MazArtACADEMY

Terms of Service

Last updated: 27 October 2026

Welcome to MazArt Academy. These terms explain how the membership works. By joining or using the Academy you agree to them, so please read them before you sign up. If anything's unclear, just email marion@mazartacademy.com.

1. Who we are

MazArt Academy is a trading name of MazArt Studio Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 10496630), registered office 17 Lawton Road, Alsager, Stoke-on-Trent ST7 2AA. "We", "us" and "our" mean MazArt Studio Limited. "You" means the member.

2. Your membership

Membership gives you access to the lessons, courses, downloads, live classes and other content in the members' area at members.mazartacademy.com, and in the MazArt Academy app, for as long as your membership is active.

Membership opens at set times during the year. When doors are closed, new members can join the waiting list.

You must be 18 or over to join. Younger painters are welcome to paint along with an adult who holds the membership.

3. Your account

Your membership is for you alone. Please don't share your login or let anyone else use your account. We may suspend or close accounts that are being shared.

Keep your login details safe and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.

4. Payment

Membership is a recurring subscription, billed monthly or yearly depending on the plan you choose. Payments are taken automatically by Stripe on the same date each month or year until you cancel.

Prices are shown at checkout and include VAT.

Your price is locked. You'll keep the price you joined on for as long as your membership stays active. If you cancel and rejoin later, you'll join at the price at that time.

If a payment fails, we'll try again and let you know. If it still can't be taken, your access may be paused until it's sorted.

5. Cancelling

You can cancel at any time from your account settings, or by emailing us. Your membership stays active until the end of the period you've already paid for, and then it stops. You won't be charged again.

There's no pause option. If you cancel and later want to come back, you can rejoin when doors are next open, at the price at that time.

6. Refunds and your right to cancel

Because the Academy is digital content that you can access as soon as you join, by signing up you ask us to give you access straight away and you agree that you lose the usual 14-day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations once access begins.

Payments are non-refundable, including any unused time. For example, if you cancel an annual membership half way through the year, you keep access until the year ends, but we don't refund the remaining months.

This doesn't affect your legal rights if something we provide is faulty or not as described. If something isn't working, tell us and we'll put it right.

7. Using the lessons, tracings and references

Everything in the Academy (videos, tracings, reference photos, swatches, guides and printables) belongs to MazArt Academy or is used with permission. It's protected by copyright.

You may use it for your own learning and painting. You may not copy, download (beyond the attachments provided for you), share, sell, re-upload or teach from it, or pass tracings and reference photos on to anyone else. Please don't try to get around the site's security or access controls.

The paintings you make from the lessons are yours. You're welcome to keep, gift, display or sell them. When you share or sell one, we ask that you credit it as "in the style of Marion Dutton, MazArt Academy".

8. Live classes

Live classes and studio sessions run on Zoom. Live teaching classes are recorded, and the replay may be added to the members' area. During teaching everyone is muted and questions are typed into the chat. If you'd rather not appear in a recording, keep your camera off and use a display name you're happy to be seen.

Some informal sessions (such as Tuesday Chinwag) are live only. They aren't added to the library and any recording is deleted afterwards.

9. Comments and the artwork you share

Please be kind. Don't post anything hateful, harassing, threatening, explicit, illegal, or that copies someone else's work or private information. We may remove comments that are rude, unkind, off topic, spam or promoting other businesses. Depending on how serious it is, we may give a warning, suspend the account or close it.

You keep the rights to any artwork, photos or comments you share. By posting them in the Academy you let us show them inside the members' area. We'll only use your work outside the Academy (for example on YouTube, social media or emails) if you've given us permission.

10. Certificates

The Foundation Course graduate certificate is MazArt Academy's own award, to celebrate finishing the course. It isn't an official or accredited qualification.

11. Changes to the Academy

We add new lessons regularly and may update, move or retire older content from time to time. We'll do our best to keep the Academy running smoothly, but we can't promise it will always be available without interruption, for example during maintenance or problems with the platforms we use.

12. Our responsibility to you

We'll provide the Academy with reasonable care and skill. Painting materials (solvents, mediums, varnishes and pigments) should be used safely and as the maker directs. Please work in a well-ventilated space.

We aren't responsible for losses that weren't foreseeable, or for business losses. Nothing in these terms limits our liability where the law doesn't allow it to be limited.

13. Ending your membership

We may close an account if these terms are seriously broken (for example, sharing logins or redistributing the content). If we do, we won't refund any payments for the current period.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If the changes matter, we'll let you know and may ask you to accept them before you carry on using the Academy.

15. The law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
